Job Description:

ROAD 2 LAGOS LTD is seeking a skilled and experienced Chef with a deep understanding of African, particularly Nigerian, cuisine. The successful

candidate will be responsible for creating and executing authentic dishes that reflect the rich culinary heritage of Africa, ensuring that our customers

experience the true flavours of African cuisine. This role requires a passion forcooking, creativity in menu development, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Menu Creation and Development:

Design and develop an authentic African menu.

Introduce seasonal specials and new dishes that align with

customer preferences and business objectives.

Collaborate with the management team to refine and expand the

menu offerings.

Food Preparation and Cooking:

Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes with precision, ensuring

consistency in taste and presentation.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in the kitchen.

Monitor food stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory to

minimise waste and ensure the freshness of ingredients.

Catering and Event Services:

Lead the kitchen team in the preparation of food for large-scale

events, including weddings, corporate functions, and private parties.

Ensure that all catering orders are fulfilled to the highest standards, on time, and in line with client specifications.

Work closely with the Catering Operations Manager to plan and execute event menus.

Training and Supervision:

Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring they understand and follow company procedures and standards.

Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, delegating tasks as necessary to ensure smooth workflow.

Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.

Quality Control:

Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all dishes meet the company’s standards for taste, presentation, and safety.

Address and resolve any issues related to food quality or customer complaints promptly.

Qualifications and Skills:

Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a restaurant specialising in African cuisine.

Ability to create authentic dishes with attention to detail and presentation.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent organisational and time management abilities.

Understanding of food hygiene regulations and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

OPERATIONS MANAGER (Catering)

Salary: £39000 per annum

Job Description:

ROAD 2 LAGOS LTD is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our business, ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality food and exceptional service. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our catering business, from event coordination to logistics and staff management, with a focus on maintaining the authenticity and excellence of our African culinary offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the catering department, ensuring efficiency and high standards of service.

Coordinate all aspects of catering events, from initial client consultation to final delivery and setup.

Manage scheduling, staff assignments, and resource allocation to meet the demands of multiple events and deliveries.

Team Leadership and Development:

Lead, train, and mentor the catering team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement staff development programs.

Ensure all team members are knowledgeable about our menu offerings and can communicate this effectively to clients.

Event Planning and Execution:

Collaborate with the Chef to design event-specific menus that align with client preferences and our brand’s cultural focus.

Oversee the preparation and execution of events, ensuring that food quality, presentation, and service meet our high standards.

Manage logistics, including transportation, setup, and breakdown, to ensure smooth event operations.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Ensure all catering operations comply with health and safety regulations, including those set by the Food Standards Agency.

Monitor food quality and service standards, implementing improvements where necessary.

Conduct regular audits of catering processes and implement corrective actions as needed.

Financial Management:

Monitor expenses, manage supplier relationships, and negotiate contracts to optimise cost control.

Provide regular financial reports and forecasts to the Executive Director.

Qualifications and Skills:

Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a similar role within the catering or hospitality industry.

Strong understanding of event planning and catering logistics, with a focus on African cuisine.

Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.

Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

Exceptional communication and client relationship management skills.

Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle the pressures of managing multiple events simultaneously.
